Mobile tools for JTACs (Joint Tactical Air Controllers).
Our client develops large, powerful systems for use by JTACs in the field. They wanted to experiment with transferring their product experience to a handheld mobile device. Our challenge was not in replicating their capabilites or software functionality but rather in creating an interface that would allow users to manage complex battlefield systems in a logical and intuitive way.
The resulting software interface actually improved the JTAC workflow by streamlining the experience and removing non-essential information and options from the screen. This was done without sacrificing features or options, but rather by only showing the operator what they needed for a given workflow.
